"Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions." ~ Albert Einstein

Napoleon Hills said, “Fear is faith in reverse gear. Fear is a negative belief in something, and belief is the very foundation of faith. Faith is a positive mental attitude in action. Your mental attitude is the sum total of your thoughts at any given time.”

When we were children, we had no problem activating our wonderful gift of imagination. We could imagine anything. I remember when my family would purchase a large household item, like a new television or a washing machine. I was enthralled with the big box that it came in. That box became my fort, my playhouse, my spaceship, my doll house, you name it. And I had no shortage of ideas for what to use that box for. Unfortunately, we were talked out of using that magnificent gift. We had to grow up, be realistic, and get our heads out of the clouds.

But I have some amazing news for you. You still have that gift – yes, it is still a part of you, and you have the ability to activate it anytime you choose. And you want to know something else? You do activate it, quite frequently. The difference is instead of imagining what you do want, you imagine what you do not want, and thus creating a reality that mirrors your imagination. Instead of focusing on your dreams and intentions, you give excessive amounts of attention to your fears and worries. And guess what shows up in your life? You bet! More of your fears and worries.

Just for today, STOP, TAKE A BREATH, and ASK:

What am I giving most of my attention to right now?” Especially if you are not feeling well emotionally.

Remember, your thoughts precede your feelings; so if you are not feeling okay, then check in with what you are thinking about. You have the ability to choose a different thought; one that is more pleasant; thus making you feel better. Be proactive with your thoughts and your imagination. Use them to create the life you desire.

"You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith." ~ Mary Manin Morrissey

In this brand new year of only 10 days old, I know you are not already letting fear get the best of you. Please do not allow your fear to get bigger than your dream. If fear is creeping up a little too much, then it’s time to have a conversation with this fear of yours. Simply ask it what does it want from you? Remember, fear is not the enemy; it is there to protect you from harm. When you step into new dreams and intentions, your body and mind have never been there before. So, fear comes in to make sure you will remain safe. This is why creative visualization can be so helpful.

Write down your dreams and desires in as much detail as you can. Writing engages both hemispheres of the brain and it is said that writing is the doing part of thinking. Then, visualize this in your mind as if you were watching a movie. Picture the entire scene: what you are wearing, who is there with you, what is being said, and especially how are you feeling. That feeling is the key; live in that feeling. When you are living in your feelings of joy, peace, passion, or the like, fear has no foothold on your dream.

You were gifted with an incredible imagination. You used it when you were a child, then you bought into the belief that you had to grow up and be realistic. So, how’s that working for you? You still have the imagination. Take it out every once and a while and use it. You will be amazed at what you can manifest in your life.

“We don’t see the world as it is, we see the world as we are.” ~ AnaĆ®s Nin

Daily relive the day as you wish you had lived it, revising the scenes to make them conform to your ideals and intentions. For example, if today’s mail brought bad news, rewrite the letter making it conform to news you wish you had received.

This is not to deny or ignore reality – but to keep your thoughts and feelings in alignment with what you say you want your life to look like. Remember, the subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is real and what is imagined.

When some event or situation really needs your full and immediate attention, then you will deal with it appropriately. Otherwise, you have been gifted with an imagination – so use it!
