Receive your daily boost of B-12.

These are in no particular order. Use them all – everyday.

“Live everyday as if it were your last – cuz one day, you’ll be right!”

The first of our B-12 boosts is Be Purposeful.

“Everything in the universe has a purpose. Indeed, the invisible intelligence that flows through everything in a purposeful fashion is also flowing through you.” ~ Wayne Dyer

To be purposeful means to have a definite why. Napoleon Hill called it definiteness of purpose; and W. Clement Stone said definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement.

In my coaching practice, I have encountered so many who go after opportunities because of the money. Unfortunately this does not yield a great return on investment. In the long run, there is burnout, lack of motivation, coupled with constant procrastination and lack of focus. The money is simply the by-product; it is never the why. You have not incarnated here on this earth to amass money. You have incarnated to fulfill your divine purpose, that burning desire that is within each and every one of us. When you are so on purpose, you lose all track of time, stay focused and motivated and there is less stress and burnout because you are doing exactly what you were created to do. You are being first – being your authentic self.

STOP, TAKE A BREATH, and ASK:

“What am I here to be, do and have?”

Asking this question, you will soon re-discover your divine why. I say re-discover because you already know the answer – you just need to re-member it.

Just for today, be purposeful!

One of the classes I have begun teaching is called A Spirituality of Purpose. It is a mix of men and women and a very interesting mix, I must say. In listening to the introductions and why people are taking the course, I always find some common threads. When the discussions begin, I find that people want to find their purpose, they want to live a life of passion, but they just don’t want to work at making that possible. If passion and purpose could just fall into their laps, without them having to do too much, then they would be satisfied.

I find that folks want a neat little packaged answer with a carefully mapped out blueprint detailing exactly how to live and what to do. Well, I’m here to pop that little fantasy balloon and tell you that it just does not work that way. Most of the fun of living a life of purpose is in the discoveries that we continue to make. I wouldn’t like it if my life was handed to me on some platinum platter with all the answers to all the questions. Yet, this is exactly how some people live their lives. Their parents, their family members, their peers, their community, or society has imposed their life purpose on to them; and now they are following a script that was written by and for someone else.

The only person that can plan your life is you. Someone else can help finance it, but even then, there may be restrictions. Get in touch with your own authenticity – you have an authentic self, you know. When are you going to start finding out who that self is and start making her happy? Living a life of passion and purpose means living from center, your center, and honoring what is in your core. As women, we tend to take care of everyone around us, which is not a bad thing unless it is at the expense of taking care of ourselves. I always say that we cannot give away what we ourselves do not have. If our love tank is empty, how on earth do we expect to fill someone else’s?

Last week, I signed up for a women’s workshop called “Spark Your Fire.” I wanted to be at a workshop where I was being taken care of and not facilitating for a change. I went with no expectations, only wanting to connect with self and other women. Boy, did I connect with self! After the deep breathing exercises, which left me feeling as if I was melting into the floor, I felt the traumatized Carolyn and knew I needed to pamper her. Again, I am so about taking care of other women, that it is too easy to neglect my own self care. But I was so held and honored that evening; it was all about pampering me. I shared my feelings with one of the facilitators at the end, and she was so supportive and caring, hugging me and reminding me to honor my feelings.

All this to simply say, I honored myself and filled my love tank. To do the work I do with women, I must have a full tank, or I absolutely could not hold anyone sacredly or safely. I would be too toxic. And worse, I wouldn’t have the presence to shield other’s toxins. Pretty scary!

One way to live a life of passion and purpose is to choose to want to live a life of passion and purpose. If you want to and hold that intention, then it will begin to show up for you. If you do not, then you will get a whole lot of what you do not want. First begin by choosing to live a life of purpose. If you want to change your life, then you have to work at it. The Law of Attraction includes the Law of Action. Make the conscious intention, then take the necessary steps to create the space for it to start showing up for you.

Start by choosing to change your life,

“Many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.” ~ Helen Keller

So many women I come in contact with, clients, in workshops, in my classes, in my speaking engagements -- ask the same question: What is my purpose? The first part of the answer is I have no idea what your purpose is! However, if you really want to know, I can help you find out. So often, we think of our purpose as our careers or our jobs. This is not the case.

When I speak of purpose, I am speaking of that one divine assignment that only you came to this universe to accomplish. It doesn't matter how you live out that purpose, as long as you are fulfilling your purpose.

Author and speaker Matthew Kelly says that your purpose is to be the best version of yourself. This is certainly true. When you are truly living a life on purpose, your authentic self shines. Not the false self that we tend to show to the world when we are in people-pleasing mode. But when we are comfortable with every aspect of our lives, even when things are going crappy, we can still say, "Well done!"

My purpose is to equip, empower, and encourage women going from a life of adversity and transition to a life of peace, passion, purpose, and prosperity. This comes so naturally for me, it is effortless. I don't have to think about doing it -- I just do it, wherever I go. Somehow, the Divine Spirit puts the words that are needed into my mouth. There are various ways I choose to make that purpose manifest in my life: I coach, I counsel, I teach, I speak, I share stories, I sing, I write, the list can go on. But in all, I must live out that purpose.

When I am not living my divine purpose, I feel a sense of lack and want. If I were not allowed to do what I do, pieces of me would simply wither and die inside. I know this because before I began living out my purpose, I had the j-o-b that nearly killed me. I was miserable. I was good at the job, and my superiors loved me and my work, but I was dying because it wasn't fulfilling my divine call. Yet, when I would get the opportunity to minister to women, I was elated.

So, my purposeful question for you is: "Whose life are you living? And, "If not now, when?

Live life to the full, starting now!

Hey Purposeful and Passionate People!

Our June Becoming a Woman of Purpose was awesome! We had some amazing sharing, insights, and revelations. It truly amazes me when I hear women say that they don't know what their purpose is. Or even, they cannot tell you what they are passionate about. This is not because we don't know. This is because we operate in a perpetual motion and doing, that we have not stopped to take the time to ask the questions. We don't take the time to just sit and be and find out whose life am I really living? Mine or someone else's?

One of the lessons at this gathering had to do with women who, because they have no children, does that mean they are not maternal or have that "maternal instinct"? It doesn't matter if a woman has given birth to one child, to several children, or to no children at all. We all have that innate knowing. During every woman's lifetime, she will have nurtured and cared for someone; be it a parent in old age, a family member, or a sick friend. That maternal instinct does kick in. This, like purpose, is part of a woman's DNA, if you will.

As I posted previously, we are operating out of our limiting belief system. To know that we are more than enough is difficult for some women to wrap their minds around. We are our own worse critics. One way to combat this is to cultivate the spirit of gratitude. When we are truly grateful, we only focus on our truths, not our fears or false beliefs. Being a woman of purpose means being grateful for all the joys of life. It also means being able to see the lessons learned in the sorrows, which also brings us to a place of gratefulness. And so it is.

Stay in a spirit of gratitude and your purpose will find you!

My passion and purpose is to guide and create passion and purpose for others, especially women. To often, women are the ones to undervalue themselves. Well, I just won't stand for it anymore! Women are the goddesses on this planet, heiresses to the throne of the Divine, and we must behave like it.

When I find other women on this same journey, it really excites me. I read several blogs daily for my own spiritual enrichment and connection. I found this post to be a wonderful expression of Divine purpose and wanted to share it with you. It comes from Susan Hanshaw of Sanctuary for Change. Susan's mission is to support others on the transitional journey she walked herself. A certified spiritual counselor and coach, Susan works with individuals seeking to experience a life with greater abundance, joy, and sense of purpose. She is the author of Unleashing Your Soul: Finding the Courage to Follow Your Heart.

"I have talked a lot here about my belief that life has purpose. Yet where does that purpose come from and where does it begin? Consider first that we were all created from a divine energy that many of us call God. That means that we each began as a spark from the divine. If you can see yourself as a divine spark, you then accept the invitation to see that there is something that God wants to do through you. This is your divine purpose."

Susan has a beautiful way that she languages life and purpose. To truly be women of purpose, immerse yourself in the light and wisdom of other women of passion and purpose, like Susan. This is what I call a nutritious connection! So, bathe in it!

Life passionately, on purpose!
