One of my favorite movies is The Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black. I use this movie to illustrate important points relating to living life on purpose. Hey, whatever works, right?
Well anyway… Jack Black’s character Miles is a hoot, as you can imagine. He’s my favorite. Gotta love him! Miles and Kate Winslet’s character Iris, are out having a bite. No, not of each other! Stay with me, now. So, when Miles reaches for the soy sauce, his hand accidentally brushes against Iris’ boob. And he announces to those within earshot, “Accidental boob graze!” I’m laughing as I write this.
Well, when I first met the lovely Ann Handley of Annarchy (you have to say that very loud with a booming voice: A N N A R C H Y! Makes a difference, huh?) last summer here in the Bigger Apple, we were having our picture taken and whoops! Accidental boob graze! Well we howled! Now, she doesn’t know I’m telling you this story. But being that you are my dearest friends, I feel I must since she has tagged or memed me.
Like Ann, I don’t do memes very well. I always forget to do something. But, I will give it another try.
Four Secrets About Me
1. I love movies from the 30’s and 40’s. Someone once told me I should have been born then. But then I couldn’t blog because blogs didn’t exist. Duh!
My favorite of that era is The Women. But the only purpose those women had was to stab other women in the back! I have evolved.
Yes, The Holiday is from this century. I can be flexible when the occasion calls for it!
2. I am an HSP – a highly sensitive person. So I can’t do violent and scary movies, loud noises, crowds, and airport security. Traumatic! And I live in New York City. Go figure!
3. My first job out of college was on a telephone complaint hotline – for the city. Okay, so now you know!
4. I had no intention of reading Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth. But Oprah said I should. Okay, she said everybody should.
Now, none of these are really secrets. They are just well hidden, highly covert, in your face facts. Living in New York isn’t nearly as traumatic as these memes are. So, Lady Ann, my boob graze sister, here’s to you!
Oh yeah, this is the part I forget – who do I get to mess with next! Actually, this is the fun part. I am rubbing my hands with a decidedly sinister look on my face. But it’s wasted cuz well, you can't see me. Damn!
Well, I cannot allow this sinister look to go to waste, so here goes! My Mogulette sister, Carmina Perez; my Positivity sister, Kirsten Harrell; my Beautiful Chaotic sister, April Groves; my Café sister, Towanda Long.
Hey, I am a woman of purpose, so I have a lot of sisters!
Have a boob graze... on purpose!

From Boob Graze to Meme…On Purpose!
BWP Goes Facebook
Okay passionate and purposeful divas, Becoming a Woman of Purpose has gone Facebook! Yes, I have launched a BWP Group on Facebook where women can join the conversation from all over the globe. I am quite excited about this because my mission with BWP is to equip, empower, and encourage women worldwide with the message of inner peace, passion, and purpose.
Facebook is a social networking site that not only allows you to connect with friends, but it has so many cool and funky apps. I go to my profile page and just play. I have also made some rockin connections with some cool folks. I have joined many groups, social justice causes, super poked friends, adopted a pet penguin, given and received gifts from friends, and just plain had a blast.
Facebook has become my latest drug of choice! Yes, I am totally addicted. Perhaps you can tell that from my photo on the sidebar of this blog. I so prefer it to MySpace, because being an HSP (highly sensitive person), I find MySpace a bit “loud” for my system. Facebook is a lot calmer, more peaceful. I can stay on Facebook for hours, whereas I can only take MySpace for a few minutes – the intensity of the music and colors are too overwhelming for a sensitive soul like me. I do have a MySpace page that is only a page – nothing on it, except my mug shot.
My Mogulette sister Carmina Perez, who is one of my Facebook buddies, has just gotten bitten by the bug! She has an awesome post about Facebook on her blog, Mogulettes in the Making. Check out her post called Facebook Basics if you are still a bit skittish about yet another social networking site. As Carmina says, "Facebook is networking on steroids!"
So if you are on Facebook, look me up and give me a poke; and I’ll poke you back!
See you on Facebook!

The W List... The Wiki Continues
My dear Mogulette sister Carmina Perez shared a link to a blog that posted 100 resources for women entrepreneurs called The Woman Entrepreneurs Toolbox. Of course now that I have started one wiki, well why not another? After all, what's one wiki without another? One lonesome wiki!
A Mogulette of Purpose
One of the things I tirelessly advocate is that we are all on a journey -- be it a journey of faith, a journey of transition, a journey of peace -- it all equals the journey of life. And while we are on this journey, we definitely need companions, fellow sojourners travelling on the road with us.
Sacred Scripture tells us that the disciples were sent out two by two. Why is that? Well, because if one becomes discouraged, the other can lift her up. Then there is the old saying, two heads are better than one.
One of the toughest things, I believe, is thinking that we are alone on this journey called life. In my many years on the journey, I have found that there is always someone else on the road with a similar story. I am very blessed to have several fellow sojourners on this path I take. One of them is my Mogulette sister, Carmina Perez. Carmina is Mogulette Extraordinaire and implementer of the Mogulettes Meetup and Mogulette in the Making Blog. She is a femprenuer who is passionate about her journey and on purpose to achieving it, not just for herself, but for fellow women on the journey. Her weekly meetups are for women on the road to living out their passions and building their businesses.
One of Carmina's blog post, which prompted this post, is on having action partners -- those fellow travellers who can share your struggles, but who can also encourage and inspire you to greatness.
Check out Carmina's meetup and blog. Both are loaded with information for any woman looking to startup and build her business. Carmina is definitely a woman of purpose!
