"If your everyday life seems poor, don't blame it; blame yourself; admit to yourself that you are not enough of a poet to call forth its riches; because for the creator there is no poverty and no indifferent place." ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
You have heard it said that when you point the finger of blame, there are three fingers pointing right back at you. It is so easy to blame our circumstances and external events when things in our lives just aren’t going well. It is the fault of the economy, the government, my boss, my spouse, my Golden Retriever, the list goes on. Yet, there is one person we seem to leave off that list; and all you need do is look in the mirror. Now, unless you are a vampire, you will be looking at yourself.
It is your choices that have created the situations you are dealing with in your life. I know we don’t like to hear this, because it was someone else’s doings and undoings that created this situation. That may be the case, but you still made the choice to become involved. We do have choice. We do not have to show up to every argument, drama or negativity that we are invited to. The invitations on those are flowing. Sometimes it’s okay to just stay home.
You have the power to choose… choose wisely!

Take Responsibility for Your Life
Who's Business Are You Minding?
“To master a relationship is all about you. The first step is to become aware, to know that everyone dreams his own dream. Once you know this, you can be responsible for your half of the relationship, which is you. If you know that you are only responsible for half of the relationship, you can easily control your half. It is not up to us to control the other half, if we respect, we know that our partner, or friend, or son, or mother, is completely responsible for his or her own half, there is always going to be peace in that relationship. There is no war.” ~ The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz
Take 100% responsibility for your own life. You cannot control anyone else, only yourself. Master your own thoughts and your own actions. When you can do this, you will eliminate the stress of worrying about someone else’s behavior. Remember, everyone has their own Higher Power and it’s not you!
Author and speaker Byron Katie says there are three kinds of business: mine, yours and God’s. Much of our stress comes from not tending to our own business. We have enough to do by keeping to our own business.
Create peace and mind your own business,

Take Responsibility on Purpose
"God gives everyone certain attributes, characteristics, talents, and then He says, "If you use what you have I'll increase it, but if you don't use it, you'll lose it." Use it or lose it; it's a law." ~ Charlie "Tremendous" Jones
"One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes ... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
In The Success Principles by Jack Canfield, Principle #1 is: Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life. This principle simply states that no matter what has happened to us in our past, we must suspend blaming someone or something else on what didn’t go right. We are the creators of our own lives and must take full responsibility for the creation process. What went on before is past. We cannot change our past. We can only look back and learn from it. The pieces that went wonderfully, we honor and celebrate; while the pieces that seemed crappy, we reconcile and release.
So, just for today, think about where you are right now. Not last week, last month, or last year – but right this very moment. What is the next inspired action you can take to create a brilliant life? Make it so.
"I was part of that strange race of people aptly described as spending their lives doing things they detest to make money they don't want to buy things they don't need to impress people they dislike." ~ Emile Henry Gauvreau
